Open Question: Christians, please help!?
Okay, I’m not trying to say that my mother’s convictions are wrong, but I feel that maybe she’s going off the deep end.

She is at a point in her life where she refuses to take joy in things because she feels that they are somehow a sin.

For example, texting. She had an opportunity to get a smart phone with texting and FaceTime capabilities, but she REFUSED because she thinks somehow, it’s wrong. I text and FaceTime my sister all the time and without it, it would be very hard to stay connected.

How can I convince my mom that it’s okay to take joy in certain things in life? It’s really come down to the fact that she feels she isn’t being a true Christian unless she is constantly serving other people and 100% denying any joy to herself. I know that the apostle Paul says to know Jesus we need to “pick up our crosses” but I don’t think she would be a “bad” Christian if she took a breath to enjoy certain things in life. I mean, one of the fruits of the spirit is Joy! She just refuses to allow anything to make her happy for fear she might either be a bad Christian or a poor witness to others.

We can’t get her to take a vacation, to let us buy clothes for her, to let us use technology with her…..she just thinks that everything is a sin.

Are there any Bible verses that can help me convince her that it’s okay to live in the world and not be of the world?

Open Question: Why do iPhones have such limited capabilities?
Compared to android deviced like Samsung, HTC etc, they are worlds apart in terms of what you can actually do. Even in terms of hardware and specs i mean common when are they going to upgrade that pathetic 3.5 inch attempt at a screen? Dont get me started on iOS. Basically just a grid with squares on it with no customization what so ever. The only reason it sells is because of the trademark apple. Anything that they put an “i” infront of the stupid isheep customers will buy, even though they have no idea how pathetic it is for the price compared to “real” smartphones.

A simple task like transferring files between your computer and your phone without using itunes, converting file formats etc. How about flash for the browser? How about downloading files from the browser? How about having an actual file browser on the phone? How about 4g speeds? i can go on forever.

Open Question: Why is my wife mad at me? 10 points?
Ok here’s a story about my wife. My wife and I are currently separated. I haven’t saw her in about a week in a half. As far as I know she move to Florida with her parents.We had a been separated for about three months but we both agreed to reconcile and get back together when all our financial situation was right. During this time she was staying with her aunt. Towards the end before her aunt kicked me out she started to disapprove of me and tried to convience her niece against me.

My wife and I have had domestic problems.WE argued alot .At one point I hit her once and she filed a restraining order on me which led to our separation since then we have been trying to reconcile but hadn’t been living together since. Recently in the last month my wife have taking me out to dinner, brought me to the beach and proposed to me in the sand with a ring, went to bars and chill out and just two days before the last time I saw her she bought me a build a bear that says “I love you” when you squeeze it with her voice recorded in it. She had just hot a brand new job as a assistant manager in one of her favorite stores, so she was very happy about that

Two Sundays ago I bought my wife a phone and since then it seem like everythnig went down here from there. She gave her parents her numbers and since her parents don’t like me and disapprove of our relationship they have been trying to destroy my wife and I marriage for over a year. Well, Thursady of that same week.My wife and I had a huge argument. Since her aunt kicked her out she was staying in a hotel I was paying for her anyway the argument was about the car which is in both orf our name. She felt like I was entitled to a spare key so we argue till it lead us to the police station. At the police station she called her parents who then came all the way from Flordia.This was the last time I saw or spoke to her

The next day her father text me to come get the car at her sister and when I got there he changed his mind and threathen to call the cops if I didn’t leave. On Monday I called the finace company and find found out she had the car voluntary repossed. Now her and my credit is messed up for atleast 7 years. When I tried calling for her her parents threathen to call the cops again on me and told me not to call them again. A couple of night I saw she recently created a facebook page using her maiden name and her relationship status as “seperated”.It seem like she stay up late in to the morning like until 2am on the computer. I never told her to give up everything she had and go live with her parents in a different state.

Why is she mad at me?

this is going to be quite long.. And any one reading this: i prefer serious answers and it would b nice if u could have a look to this Q. again after 2-3 days.

…im a married young housewife who is in her early 20’s (22).
My marriage was a love marriage.
i got married to the man i loved with a month before i turnd 19yrs old.
he was 25 by that time.
We got married after a 3-4month relationship.
as his parents didnt believe in engagements and as my husband was supposed to fly on a trip with his brother and sister in law, i got married in a hurry, so that i could fly with them.

even thou my husband is rich he told me on my honeymoon that he was sorry, but couldnt but me anything. I didnt ask for anything but he kept telling me this, but was looking forwrd to buy a new phone on our honeymoon.
after months passed i realized that he would hardly buy me anything and seize me my money which i used to get from my dad in law. He’d only buy me a facewash and face cream.
I was still ok with it. On my birthday there weee bo presents. I was ok with it. On Eid he didnt buy any clothes or gave me any money. I still kept my silence and patience. My mum in law bought me only one sari coz of her reputation towards ppl.
my parents were sitting back in france with not knowing what was going on.
after a time it got worse, he started shouting at me about every mistake and silly mistakes i did. My in laws took the oppurtunity and would mentally pressurize me. I still tried my best to satisfy everyone by keeping my mouth shutt.
Once, i broke a glass and thats how my marriage got worse:
My husband slapped me. I cried, kept quite and my beo in law shouted at him n over!
from that day slapping me was common.
but i told my self he’d change and thought it was my fault and he had eeasons to slap me.
Months later those slaps turned into violent beating up and i kept tolerating, until we went to visit my parents in versai (france).
At nights my parents, sometimes heard us fighting and suspected, that i was being beaten up, which i later came to know through my sister. One day asked him if i could finish my Alevels, when my dad came to the uk. my dad got me into a college in the uk. However, my mun in law was against it.
One day my husband asked me to stopp college with no reason and i asked why? And told him that i just wanted to graduate as i was the youngest daughter in my dads household and that he really wanted me to finish college atleast. -btw: before i got married my dad and i asked my father in law if i wad allowed to finish college and my husband and his dad gave us their word.-

That day my husband was slapping me violently by taking me to a corner of a shop in a public place. Another day he hit me against the wall of a house bwcause i wanted to talk to him about the pressure-risings of his family and mental torture.
I couldnt tolerate all this anymore and told my dad about ev.thing when i went to baq home again (versai). My dad kept me in versai and went to the uk to ralk to my inlaws and husband.
they gave up and admitted to their mistakes. And they fear a divorce anyway, as one of my bro in laws was divorced anyway.
they later changed a little -wht to expect from asian in laws anyway?- bur they changed. Except for my husband.
who got more violent on me after this. Now he would fight with me and beat me up more, the reason was: why i ever told my family about the abuse.
The beating had a stop for 6-7 months. But there were still fights.
i kept quite thinking of changing him by not telling.

But every now and than when we engage in little fights he’d start talkin biut my dad and hit me a little or slightly. I kept quite until the day before yesterday!
I told hin frank nd jokingly that: when i buy things its a crime and when he does ita not. I also told him about my sis in law and bro in law hw gud their undestanding was. But again my dad was in between.
And this time i didn keep my mouth shutt infront of him. It took me 3yrs to open up -but- my husband git extreme. He took a large meat knife and said he’d cut his trought off or cur mine and i was the one to choose. If he’d harm himself, he’d blame me for it. I ringed my dad in law he came upstairs to my apartment and yes, i got full support from him. & now am thnkn of dvorce! I cnt nymore! But my dad is against it….

Open Question: my 8900 keeps crashing?
basically, I’ve had my blackberry 890 for a while now, and it’s been fine… most of the time. I installed an updated version of whatsapp, but a bug in the update prevents me from using media properly on my phone, such as watching a video, without crashing and having to uninstall then re install whatsapp to continue using any type of media.
anyway, the main problem is that for a few weeks, my phone is unable to run too many applications at one time, e.g, i can’t listen to music and use bbm at one time, otherwise a blank white screen will come up, and the phone becomes unresponsive. At this point, i have to pull out the battery and put it back in, but when the screen loads, my phone will crash again, and display a blank white screen. The only way i can get my phone to work is to turn it on while it is charging. This is really inconvenient because my phone tends to crash while I’m out so I’m left without a phone most part of the day. Is there anyway around this? I thought there may be a fault with the battery but I don’t want to risk buying a new battery and the phone to still keep crashing.
I don’t have many unnecessary apps installed, whatsapp, blackberry protect, the essentials.
Any help is appreciated

Open Question: My iPhone 3GS has had no service for the last three days. What do I do?
I just switched from an Android phone to an iPhone 3GS which is much much better. I bought it last week – Friday to be exact. My service went out three days ago and was going in and out constantly before that. I’m using it now on wifi but I can’t send texts, receive them or call people/receive calls. I called AT&T and they told me to turn my phone off for a couple of hours and that they would call me at 8:30pm to turn it back on. They never called. I turned it back on to find that I still had no service. It just says “Searching” or “No signal” where the bars should be. Or it has one bar which is nothing. I have no signal at home, at school, outside etc. What else can I do? Has anyone ever had this problem?

Open Question: Installing a wifi network?
I have had a single-router WiFi network for 5 years now and have used countless different routers, trying to find one that will give me coverage for the whole house. I have not had brilliant success.
My current router is a virgin media router that was installed by virgin. It has four ports and gives out WiFi but gives me dead spots such as the lounge and the downstairs bathroom (who doesn’t check Emails on the loo). I have recently bought a 40m CAT6 Ethernet cable to connect my TV, Sky box and blu ray player, that are in my lounge to the internet. It runs fine to my lounge but I can only connect one of my devices to the internet at any one time.
I had read something about Ethernet switches that give you more Ethernet ports, which I could plug my 40m CAT6 cable into as an input and then have individual cables running out to my devices as outputs. I realise that this could be done cheaply (i.e. £10 for the internet switch and maybe £20 for cables) but then I remembered my problem with WiFi, especially in this part of the house.
I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get a second router which not only gives me more ports in this part of the house, but gives me WiFi.
So, my questions are:
Can two routers work synonymously in one house off of one phone line?
Would I be able to connect devices such as phones and my iPad to both WiFi’s at the same time so I can move around the house without changing network settings?
Would a Virgin Media router work fine with another branded router such as Netgear?
Or should I nip this idea in the bud and just get a Ethernet switch and not bother with the hassle of having two routers?
And any other advice would be greatly appreciated!

Open Question: Is this legal? & whats the consequences if not?
im Going to try to make this as short as possible w/ full detail.
Im 16 ill be 17 september 10th. i met this guy whos 21 he just turned 21 january 3rd.
we started talking and reallllly strted to like eachother alot. when he was brought up my mom made it clear she didnt want me talking to him whatsoever. well she found out i was still talking to him because he got put in jail for a couple weeks for failing a drug test (weed) which he has to take due to trouble he got into in the past. so she found a letter he sent to me from jail & it was bad from there. she took my phone to make sure we could have no contact . then i was using a friends old phone and she found it and she went through it and saw there were pictures sent to him. (yes, i know i can get in trouble for this)
so anyway she called the cops and they went and searched him and took the necklace he bought for me and his phone(which he got the memory card out of so there were no pictures in his phone).
so i guess my question is, i know since im under 18 i can get introuble with my parents, but what about legally? me and him both? i live in KY. and from my research i can consent to anything with him, but i just want to be sure. im not so much worried about me, i just dont want to get him in anymore trouble.
No rude comments please. i honestly couldnt care less what anyone else thinks about our age difference.

Open Question: Is there any way I can make someone’s promise legally binding?
There is a place I want to buy my Motorola phone battery. In legit stores, it retails for $70-90 and is actually guaranteed to be manufactured by Motorola.
However, I do not have that sort of money, and went to my local markets (where people set up stalls using rented landspace from the local Council) to look around for this battery.
One guy said that the Motorola batteries he sells are genuine and manufactured by Motorola.
I asked him if I could come back and refund it if a Motorola or phone store said that the battery was fake. He replied “yes”.

Is there any way I can legally turn this into a contract.

For one, there has to be evidence, so I should obviously either record or get him to sign something.

Can anyone think of a less conspicuous way to go about holding him accountable?

The other thing is that these people may one day pack up their stall and leave without a trace.

Well, naturally, he is accountable for his representations to me about the product I am buying, as consumer laws in Australia criminalise misrepresentation and deceptive descriptions, which prompt a right to my refund in these circumstances..

But the real issue is probably evidence here, and how to chase the guy if he decides to leave.

Open Question: I am 17, and I cannot stop worrying about my bipolar father???????????????????????????????????????????????
I need advice because I do not know how to stop worrying, and I can’t sleep. I am 17. My father was diagnosed bipolar like 15 years ago and it has had a huge effect on me. He used to be an extremely good scientist but hasn’t had a job in years. He spends a lot of time at home sleeping and stuff, and my home life is really stressful because everyone is constantly arguing. My mom and sister are huge insensitive b*tches to him, and I feel terrible because I learned from my mom and was a b*tch to him most of my teenagehood.

I think he has hit rock bottom. He has been doing really strange things like going and talking to our church and talking to our priest. The other day he went out a bought a safe and a rope and said there is going to be chemical warefare and that he will hang himself if anything happens. He also has been making strange/embarrassing phone calls. He also went and started throwing things at my sister who is 22 and she just started screaming and calling him an asshole. Then my mom told him she was going to divorce him.

I have been getting bad anxiety lately and this is all so painful to me. I feel SO bad for my dad because he is basically isolated from us and he is not doing anything to make himself better. I think he has just given up on life, and I can’t blame him for being an asshole because my mom is a huge b*tch to him and just tell him how stupid he is when he is having a bipolar episode.

My mom called his doctor, but he is terrible and said that everything was fine and that we can’t take him to the hospital until he gets violent.

Now I can’t even sleep properly these past two nights because all I do is worry about him. He seemed okay today and was cleaning the mess he made today, but my sister still hates him. I just wish my mom and sister would stop treating him like a piece of sh*t and telling him he is a failure of a man.

I just hate my family so much, and I feel so helpless. I’ve been telling my mom and sister that they need to stop being such b*tches to him. What should we do with my father? I know he is not a bad guy but he is just so disrespected by all of us because of his mental illness and all I do is cry about it. I think my mom really ruined him and him living here is a terrible environment for him.

I don’t know, maybe he really is an asshole? He will do stupid things like drink huge amounts of alcohol and then that makes him worse. He also says he has headaches when he doesn’t want to do things and won’t go workout. Maybe I am puttting my energy into something when it is his fault.

1) What should I suggest for my mom to do about him? He is on medication, but should he get counseling or something? Should he move back to his home country with his family? I just feel like he can’t deal with my family or this stressful environment anymore

2) I get upset so easily. How do I stop worrying about him and get some sleep? These past two nights I have just been up crying. Witnessing all of this is SO painful to me, and I just feel so bad for how badly I used to treat him. I miss how he used to be and it just hurts so much. I feel like I am going to have a mental breakdown of my own. I already get really bad anxiety at times

3) It’s his birthday tomorrow, but my mom and I are leaving on a trip. What should I do for him? I don’t have time to buy him anything and my mom and sister don’t care about him.
I think the last thing he needs is his entire family turning against him, but it’s been like this for YEARS.
I need to get some sleep and I can’t. My mom and sister are fine and I am here crying hysterically and no one knows.

Open Question: Something’s wrong with my CAR LIGHTER!?
I have a 2001 Pontiac Grandam and ever since I bought it 3 yrs ago the car lighter will not work. I don’t want it to work for the lighter itself I have been wanting to use it for a car phone charger.
I have checked all the fuses in my car with the little fuse checker thingy the light turned green on everyone of them. Wasn’t satisfied so I just replaced them all… still didn’t fix the problem. What else could I do? What else could it be? I just want to be able to charge my phone while on the road; and no there is nothing wrong with the charger itself. I just bought it, returned it got another one still didn’t work. Tried it in a friend’s car and it worked…
It’s driving me insane.
Please help!

Open Question: I’m 16 and this is starting to piss me off!?
Okay, i’m 16, I live with my parents and I have my own bedroom, i have never smoked in my life, i have occasionally drunk, but only EVER on special occasions, i don’t go around stabbing people, i get pretty much B’s C’s & A’s across my subjects in school, i have sat through 2 college interviews and i aced both of them, i’ll be studying A levels in college in less than 4 months, i don’t act stupid, i am mature, I have only ever been in one fight in my whole life, i was bullied through most of Year 7, 8 & 9, and through most of the years prior to this, i lived on the 5th floor of a council flat, so my mum being overprotective, NEVER let me play out, i had 3 friends and they were only with me at school.
I used to be on a paper round, i have had 3 jobs since, i used to pay my own phone bill, i bought everything for me by myself, recently i haven’t been occupied by jobs because i have school & college to worry about. Honestly, i am not a bad kid.
So WHY THE FUCK IS IT, that my mum & dad find it necessary to give me a 10pm Bedtime, they refuse to let me out of the house after 6, I never get to play video games and when i do they give me a time limit, my mum SCREWS at me when i don’t complete the list of fucking chores i’m supposed to do because SHE does ALL the housework and i’m an irresponsible bastard, they take my phone away from me when i’m in bed because i cannot be trusted, and the same goes for my iPod & laptop, and if my dad gets the slightest bit pissed off with me, he removes the fuse from my sky box and hides it for a week, i feel so stressed, my parents give me no way to chill out and do my own thing, and what’s pissed me off the most, is the fact that we have 2 weeks off school, and i’m not allowed any friends over, not allowed to stay at friends houses, and i STILL have a bed time of 11pm, you know, i don’t ask for much, so why do they hate me, i mean, when they aren’t doing stuff like this, they talk to me like a grown up, i just, i don’t know what to do anymore, please help me
Also I forgot to mention, I look after myself, i wash every day, i hoover, polish & tidy my room every day, and that’s off of my own back, like they don’t appear in the chores list

Open Question: Is he into me or just nice?
Okay, so I do physical training at this place in my town and I really like one of the trainers, but he’s 27…and has a girlfriend. Anyways, I’m 18, so to start off, I highly doubt he’d be into someone 9 years younger…but I’m pretty mature for my age. I get mixed signals from him. I mean, yes, he has a GIRLFRIEND, but I just am always hopeful. He’s always teasing me and joking around with me. He also complimented my jeans once and in addition he always seems happy when I get there and tells me great job when I leave. Also he makes lot of physical contact when explaining/helping me use proper form during training (more so than the other trainers in the studio) and sort of gives me a pat in between exercises or during them. 

Here are some examples: 
-he was teasing me for humming to myself 
-he threw a paper towel at me playfully while I was waiting to start working out 
-he high fived me when I came in one day 
-he told me to stop squeaking in a playful way when my shoes were squeaky from the rain outside
-he put his hand over my phone and moved his fingers around to try to mess me up while I was texting 
-he asked me if I was busy going on lots of dates because of the nice weather after I hadn’t been there for about a week in a joking way and was like tell me the truth! 
-he was calling me swift the other day when i wore my taylor swift tshirt (I asked if he liked her and he said “not enough to wear the shirt.” so i said “what if i bought u one?” and he said “well that’s a different story, then i’d definitely wear it.” 

Am I just desperate and stupid? Or is he just being nice? Probably. Once again, he is 27 and has a girlfriend (with the same name as me actually). Please let me know what you think!

Open Question: How do I persuade my parents to buy me a new phone?
So I just turned 14 now and I want to replace my phone which is starting to get old and broken (3 years) and it is second-handed from my sister.
The problem is that I go to a private school and my mom says that she’ll buy it for me if I get the best grades in my class. I DO have good grades, except math which I almost failed, but who can be the best at everything?. I am going to use my own money and I need my parents’ help to boost my budget but they’re not cooperating.
My objective is to buy the Samsung Galaxy S II as soon as possible (You know teenagers’ demands and trends nowadays.) so I’m going to try talking to my parents again.
They already asked me why I need to buy such an expensive phone for just calling.
Can anyone help?
And no, I won’t do chores, we don’t get allowance for that kind of thing here.
I never asked for anything until now.

Open Question: iTunes & My Iphone I need to figure out do I need to reset my iphone to put a diff iTunes user?……………?
My boyfriend at the time *now ex* decided to add me onto his family plan which was just him by himself. He had the icould and I would just take the music from him computer and it would automatically go onto my phone which was awesome because he would get anything you could think of. Also if i wanted any app he gave me his password to his appstore, I respectfuly used it and never really bought much actually. So after we had brokeup I went into the at&t store and got my own individual plan for myself and it all worked out. BUT heres the problem I still have the same apps on my phone and all the music I had gotten from his icould are still on there. Whenever ever I need to update my apps or say I wanted to buy a song or something his name will pop up asking for the password. Now i must have created a new account in iTunes before because when I got on my computer and tried making an Itunes account it said the email was already in use. I’m just alittle confused at what to do here. Do I have to reset my whole entire phone back to the orig. settings and erase everything on there and start fresh for his email to stop popping up asking for the password??

Open Question: Does anyone’s iPad 3 not stream videos properly?
I have been trying to view videos thru YouTube on my iPad 3. Every time I try to watch a video thru YouTube, the video constantly freezes, I try to pause it and wait til the whole video is downloaded, but it is REALLY REALLY slows. Is this a problem with the iPad or my internet connection?

I currently have a modem attached to my desktop and have 2 laptops, 2 tablets, 1 VoIP phone and 1 printer that are always connected to the wireless network. We bought this modem in 2008, and have been using it since then. We also have 4 cell phones that are sometimes using the network. Is this the problem or is there a dproblem with my iPad.

The videos are playing fine on my laptop though. Please any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers
Btw, everything else plays fine on the iPad, it does not heat up and I have no problem connecting to the Internet using wifi, I can browse pages and if the video isn’t too long even that streams fine

I, too, have recently had troubles with Amazon’s A-Z guarantee. I ordered two keratin flat irons for my daughters at Christmas. They’re good flat irons and should be at $200 each. The problem is that one got a short in it within the first month of using it. We knew sending it back to the buyer was not an option because it had been more than 2 weeks, so we sent it back to the Keratin company. They said to send it back to Amazon because they (the Keratin Company) could not be sure it was purchased new since it was bought through Amazon. (It made me wonder if some vendors falsely sell used items as new on Amazon). Anyway, I filed a complaint with Amazon’s wonderful A-Z guarantee. The girl said, “Don’t worry. Amazon’s A-Z guarantee will fix the problem”, and that she’d call a week later to check and see how it all went. Never heard from her but I received an email and was denied. I got in touch with Amazon again and they said I could appeal, so I did- this time basically asking if they could just get in touch with the Keratin Company and let them know it was bought new at Christmas time. At this point, it has been about three weeks- no emails, no phone calls, no nothing. I searched everywhere on their site for my history. After about an hour, I finally found where they said it was denied (*thanks for letting me know). The funny thing was, the other times I got in touch with them, I found a link I could click that said “call me” and with that I could get in touch with their customer service. This time, I searched and searched and could not find that button. At this point, I thought I’d rate my experience. I could only use twenty words and my rating time had run out.
Basically, I bought quite a few things from Amazon.com. I was a faithful customer, but NEVER AGAIN! Their A-Z guarantee seems only as good as the sellers.

well… i have the sony ericsson vivaz alongside a blackberry; i personally think that sony ericssons are better; so now getting to the point; my vivaz went into repair; and before it went in it was next to new. now its back the silver paint on the front buttons are peeling. i only realised this a couple of days ago and i got the phone back about 2 months ago. i really dont want to buy anything ’cause i dont want to waste money if it isnt nessecary but if its really important i can use my pocket money to buy some new parts. it looks really bad and im embarassed at it seeing as this is my out and about phone and it is also my games phone… it also has a few little dents on the screen and its really dusty like in the little crevices and also in the part where you listen to on the phone i dont want to get a new one cause the warranty has expired and i dont have enough money. please answer cause i really want to make my phone new also please if yu could give me some nice ideas to make my phone look more girly.
