Open Question: My cell phone messenger is not working? Help? AT&T?
Alright, I have a Pantech PBR-C350, AT&T phone and I have been using a mobile messenger app to where I can sign in to my Yahoo IM, it works well, until today, I tried signing in and a window popped up saying: Login Failed. Open Question: How can I use my iPhone 4 without a SIM card?
Ok here’s the story: I just bought a brand-new iPhone off of Ebay, and the person didn’t have a SIM card in it because they never used it. And I won’t be able to activate it and get a cell phone plan for another month because you have to be 18 to sign a contract. Open Question: My husband is a Narcissist and I can’t let go?
I need help. I have read all about narcissism and I am positive that it is what he is. He fits every description on every site or book I’ve read. We’ve been together for 4 years and the longer I stay with him the better he has become and doing his dirt. He used to mess around and talk to other woman who were young and naive’. I wanted to leave then but I couldn’t. I kept hoping he would change or that things weren’t like they seemed. I never could find hard evidence of the sneaky things he does. He is so talented at the art of persuasion and lying. IF I have no proof of what he has done he knows it and will deny at all cost. Now I believe he has moved on to messing with other married women and it makes it harder because she HAS HIS BACK if I was to call her or tell him to end their friendship. I get the strength to leave but only a temporary thing. Cause we’ll stay apart and then he’ll come back and he’s prince charming again and I fall right into it. I so badly want him to change but he has always ALWAYS reverted back into acting the same. I can’t explain his behavior it full detail but and example if I had looked through his phone the other day and saw that he had been sending sexual messages to other women on this thing called tags. When confronted with it he did apologize and say he was bored…but I ended things anyway and demanded to be taken home. When he got home he called me blaming me saying that he only does these things when I tell him I don’t want to be with him and that was a lie cause some of those messages were just around the time we had gotten back together. After this he immediately changes and says he’s going to tear me apart in divorce court and take our children. He then calls and gets my cell phone turned off. When he comes back to me and says sweet things to try and make things right it never sounds genuine. He sounds like satan talking to eve in the garden of eden…when we first get back together he sounds very geniune. Im in love with the guy he is when we get back together but it only last a month before he turns again and even though I know this now it is hard to see it when he comes back acting like prince charming. I want to be a family but when will I realize that his will never happen with him?

Open Question: Japanese cell phone email texting?
Im in Japan visiting my grandparents for some months and they got me a cellphone, it has a email that i use to text my friends here. In the U.S. I could send pictures to and text emails with my Iphone, using my phone number, I could also receive pictures and messages from those emails (like yahoo..). I gave my friend in the U.S. my Japanese cell phone email and she can text to it from her phone with her phone number, and I can text her back, like normal texting. She’s not signing on to an email from her phone, because she doesn’t have internet on it. I just told her to text my phone’s email and her phone number came through as a phone number and a email address like 888777999@att.net type thing. So I emailed her phone back and that’s how we’ve been texting. She’s just using her phone number. So by doing that, is it charging her phone for international text messaging? Even though what she’s texting to is my phone’s email address and not the actual number? Can U.S. phones tell the difference between a softbank address and a yahoo one? We know it’s not free, but, I just want to know if she will be charged crazy expensive international prices, or if for her U.S. phone it will be counted as a normal text message.

Open Question: I put my “ex bestfriends” cell phone number on craigslist and want to fix our friendship?
We grew up together and have know eachother for about ten years, we’re 16. She use to blow me off ALL the time and one day I got mad and snapped and put her phone number on craigslist looking to hook up.. ( I thought it was funny and still do) It was the most attention she has ever gotten from any guy because shes very homely looking.. Anyway, she likes hanging out with girls that weigh almost 300 lbs to make herself feel better and I cant stand any of her friends because they’re un-reasonable. She has ruined MANY of my friendships because she got jealous easily, I dont want to end our friendship over something so silly but she rather hang out with her tickle me elmo group of ugly fat girls, who ALWAYS talk crap about me for NO reason and make EVERYTHING a BIG DEAL. I kind of want things to go back to being the way they were but I’m not going to be the “second choice.” Dont tell me I’ a “bad person” because I honestly could care less about those statments.

Open Question: Am I being paranoid or does my coworker know about my private life troubles?
Key players:
The woman I sit right next to = Katie
The coworker I went out with = Trevor
The coworker in I’m asking YOU about= Hank

I’ve been w/ the company for 15 months. Everyone else involved has been there longer. I do not fit in. I don’t have confrontations or disputes with anyone, but I am just socially awkward and don’t have friends. Not very many people talk to me.

I dated Trevor briefly last winter. It didn’t end very well. We’re okay now, but I don’t think he feels too comfortable having me around the office, even though I was sure to keep all unpleasantries outside the office. Trevor and Hank are kind of good friends, but not besties.

Hank and I talk a little bit, but not a whole lot… He is a techie..his job is to make sure all the other employee’s internet is up and working.

I got in a little trouble recently over some things I did with an ex I dated before Trevor. Trevor was aware that this breakup was very nasty. So was Katie. I told them that my ex and I were doing mean things to each other.

About 3 months ago I was questioned by a police officer about some incidents allegedly related to my ex (NOT the one I work with, the one from outside the office…) I let Katie know that I may encounter some legal troubles soon and my leave or lose my job. I was not more specific than that. The officer who questioned me accused me of doing some things on the computer in the way of harassment and said I would be charged. Although, my lawyer at this point thinks they decided not to press charges otherwise we would’ve heard by now. Not sure.

My laptop at home was not taken, nor was my computer at work. IT (the technology department at work,) never questioned me on it. The only thing a little out of the ordinary was that they did a remote update on my computer a couple of weeks ago, but Katie said that’s normal. ***I HAVE NO WAY OF REAL REASON TO BELIEVE THAT HANK OR TREVOR OR ANYONE HIGH UP AT WORK WERE EVER MADE AWARE THAT I WAS QUESTIONED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT.***

Hank is a little weird w/ me. He invited me to happy hour once right in front of Trevor, and that was several months ago, closer to the time that things were rocky w/ Trevor and I. So maybe he hasn’t been told that I’m a crazy Bch. However, he’s not overly friendly w/ me..for instance, just yesterday he came up to Katie’s side of our desk and said to her, “Not sure if you like Wendy’s or not, but here you go, maybe you can use some of these” and handed her an entire book of coupons. He could’ve easily divided them and given some to each of us. See what I mean? Just little things like that that let me know I’m not “in the loop.”

Today a client called and asked for Vincent’s phone number. Vincent was out of the office on company business. On our out of office forms, there is a place for a “number you can reach me” and I noticed last spring that Vince had the number, “212-RingVin” and I laughed bc I wasn’t sure if it was a joke or not…but then again, that’s not really Vincent’s sense of humor. So I remembered that and provided that number to the client over the phone. Katie heard me saying this on the phone and was like, “whattt??? is that true??” I told her where I got it from. A few hours later, she laughed about it again and told me to call Hank (Vincent’s partner,) and ask him if that’s really Vincent’s number. So I did. The convo pretty much went like this:

Me: hey, Vincent, it’s Sabrina in Reception
Vincent: heyyy!
Me: How are you? Does Vincent have a number he can be reached off premise? [Katie and I are kind of giggling bc it's silly]
Vincent: Yes [eagerly] I can give you his cell phone number….is this for a client, or… [becoming a little more hesitant...]
Me: Well, yeah…
Vincent: …Is it..a telemarketer or something? I just don’t want to give his number to like a telemarketer and have him be harassed….
Me: Well Katie and I were just wondering if the number on his out of office sheet is his real number or if it’s a joke.. is his cell phone number 212-RingVin..like spelled out? [giggling]
Vincent: …Yeah…….that…might be a joke…..

Am I paranoid or is it weird that he became hesitant to just give me our coworker’s number?

Open Question: Several questions regarding the ascent of Mont Blanc in the summer?
Hello,

I’m going to climb Mont Blanc in July and I’ve read many articles regarding the ascent but I still have a few punctual questions. I’d appreciate if anyone (hopefully with experience on Mont Blanc) could provide me some answers to the questions below.

1. What should be the maximum weight for my rucksack?

2. What kind of rucksack should I bring with me? I understand that one of 40 – 45 liters is recommended, but what brand, what features should it have? I’d appreciate if I could get a few links to some rucksacks that are recommended for this ascent – preferably from http://www.decathlon.com/index.htm (since a have a few stores next to me)

3. Why do I need an ice axe if I am going to use the trekking poles? (considering both of my hand will be occupied with the ski poles)

4. Do I need (or is it recommended) to bring any Primus stove? (I assume it might be necessary to melt the ice or prepare some soups)

5. Are there any (officially) marked trails on the track? As far as I’ve seen in the pictures, the only trails that you have are those that are left behind by the people that climbed before you. So how can you know you are on the right track?

6. I’m going to climb together with 2 friends. How long should the rope be between each of us?

7. Do I need to bring two ropes? I understand a short one (max. 3 meters) is required for Grand Couloir and another one (longer) is required when passing by crevasses.

8. Can you point me to any good graphical guide that shows how the rope should be attached to the harness (and further on to the rest of the climbers)?

9. Is there a good (or enough for emergency) cell phone reception during the whole ascent to the summit?

10. Should I take a thermos or is it ok to bring just a regular plastic water container?

11. We’re going to take the popular route (Voie Royale, starting from Saint Gervais les Bains) – is there any webpage where I can find a detailed time plan for this route? (eg: leaving Saint Gervais les Bains at 09:00, traveling with Tramway du Mont Blanc for half an hour, arriving at Nid d’Aigle at 09:30 etc). I found similar information on the internet, but I didn’t find any article that describes in detail the time frame. I know this may be too much to ask, but maybe for someone who climbed Mont Blanc and kept a journal it’s an easy question.

12. What’s the best way to get to Chamonix/Saint Gervais les Bains? As far as I know I understand that I should take the plane to Lyon and then travel by train to Chamonix. Are there any better alternatives?

13. I understood that it’s not necessary to bring a sleeping bag (considering you are going to sleep in the huts). Is this true?

14. I have Petzl head torch with 3 leds powered by 3 AAA batteries. Considering that we are am going to climb by night (the last part of ascent, to the summit) is this head torch ok?

Open Question: What is the difference between an UNAVAILABLE and Private Number showing up on my cell phone?
I have been receiving an UNAVAILABLE phone number on my cell phone for about 2 weeks now, any time of day during the whole week.

I downloaded and purchased the TRAPCALL app onto my sprint phone to unscramble blocked numbers. I had several friends call me from their Blocked cell phone numbers and the app unscrambled the “blocked/private number” and told me their cell phone number and names (those with land lines). And the app worked.

I got another UNAVAILABLE number last night but it only showed up as unavailable, and it was not able to be unscrambled. This Unavailable number calls me often , and its harassing and reason for the app. My sprint carrier says they cant trace unavailable or blocked numbers and the police told me to use *57 for a Verizon trace, but that does not work.

I am Punjabi and he is Pakistani boy
He is junior in college and I’m sophomore in college.
I am the only indian girl on his FB list rest are 100 boys.
He clicked like on my entire prom album not every picture but the whole album.
He gave me his number when I asked him and I gave him mine but he did not ask .
I asked him why don’t have that many girls on FB he said he does not need girls? But I said why did u add me. I said I am your friend right….he said yea. I also asked him does he like chatting with me he said yea.
We were in same class in HS but not friends. I send him a FB request.
I wished him HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Have a great one. He wrote thanks on his wall? that was the only time he commented back.
When it was Diwali. he wished me online and I said same to you…happy diwali.
So when it was EID he posted it on his status. Then I send him a message on FB. Eid mubarak and he said same to u eid mubarak.
On the first of college I saw him while I was going to my class. I waved at him and said Hi. He just smile walking down the hallway with his guy friend.
In the summer one day he saw me on fb at 3:00 am. Ask me what am I doing up? I said not sleeping yet, then he signed off
In the summer we chatted at 1 or 2 hours at 2:00am we did that twice.

I saw him with my guy friend in cafe they were buying lunch. I did not see them until my guy friend said my name.But this guy just said wat’s up to me and smiled. I said Hi and waved at him. when I was in the library I speed walk by one room I saw him with his friends. I smiled at him. He smiled back.If I comment on his wall he does not comment back or delete those comments but leaves it? I just send him a message on FB to ask him what time should I call him tmr. He said he only messages girls and not talk with them on phone. I said to him don’t be shy from me. I said I used to be shy from you lol. I feel like you don’t like me and don’t want to be my friend. Then he said no it’s not and I am not shy
2 weeks ago I was driving on the highway to go college I think he saw me driving. he was driving fast.Then I send him message on FB. lolll I saw you today…you were driving fast. Were u getting late for ur class. After that I txted him on his cell and asked him did you get my message on FB. he said yea and he replied to the message. That’s just how I drive. After 1 hr he texted me on my cell wat car was I driving? I told him toyota camry. I said don’t you drive one too. He said yea and that was you? Just be careful cause there was a cop. My friend and I were talking about bad drivers on the road and impatient drivers. I told him most drivers are patient, he said no, we were going to a local Shoppers Drug Mart in Toronto Canada. So we tested this out, when pedestrian light turned green and the side we were crossing from was clear from cars, we started our walk. We still had like 20 seconds or so till the light turned amber. I walked fast, my friend slow, and we kept a meter of space between us as we walked.

My friend was right, from the opposite side of the road, across from us, cars turning left would drive onto the middle of the road and would have to stop for us. My friend laughed when we almost caused a crash when a car that was stuck in the middle of the road waiting for my friend to walk by was almost smashed into by a speeding driver.

Why are people so impatient these days? They try to sometimes squeeze between my friend and I even though we know they cant. Can’t people wait 10 seconds for a slow pedestrian to get through? My friend used his cell phone camera to record a few including the near miss, what will happen if we report this to the police with video proof and license number?

Open Question: How to Sneak out all day till late ish ?
I want to go to the mall with my friends but my parents dont allow me in like cars with guys for whatever reason. I have used the going on a jog, walk, bike ride excuse and its works but not for this long! I could think of someones house to go to but thats a little more complicated. 1. DOES HE LIKE ME?
2. I am Sikh and he is Pakistani boy
3. He is junior in college and I’m sophomore in college.
4. I am the only indian girl on his FB list rest are boys.
5. He clicked like on my entire prom album not every picture but the whole album.
6. He gave me his number when I asked him and I gave him mine but he did not ask for it.
7. I asked him why don’t have that many girls on FB he said he does not need girls? But I said why did u add me. I said I am your friend right….he said yea. I also asked him does he like chatting with me he said yea.
8. We were in same class in HS but not friends. I send him a FB request.
9. I wished him HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Have a great one. He wrote thanks on his wall? that was the only time he commented back.
10. When it was Diwali. he wished me online and I said same to you…happy diwali.

I don’t think we saw eachother? Then I send him message on FB. lolll I saw you today…you were driving fast. Were u getting late for ur class. After that I txted him on his cell and asked him did you get my message on FB. he said yea and he replied to the message. That’s just how I drive. After 1 hr he texted me on my cell wat car was I driving? I told him toyota camry. I said don’t you drive one too. He said yea and that was you? Just be careful cause there was a cop. In the third quarter of 2011, teens age 13-17 used an average of 320 MB of data per month on their phones, increasing 256 percent over last year and growing at a rate faster than any other age group.

Open Question: Looking for a reliable cell phone and wireless internet provider?
I have been with Verizon for over a decade and have decided it’s time for a change… lol
I’m not giving in to their new policy on payments.
I’m hoping to find another provider that will make it an easy transition. I have a wireless laptop and a smart cell phone… still on a contract with the phone.
Does anyone know who I can go to and still use my current phone and have the same service package with? Keep my same number? And a provider with nationwide coverage…?

Open Question: Complicated online friendship help?
So here it is. I’ve had this friend who lives on the East Coast. I’m on the West Coast. We “met” almost 3 years ago and overall it’s been nice and I think he’s a cool guy. I’m 16 and he’s 19, if that’s important. We’ve never been super close friends or anything but lately it has just plain disintegrated into something very small. He is in college but even when he obviously uses the Internet a lot he won’t often log into the chat client we use (steam chat) to talk to me. This is upsetting because I consider him as much a friend as any real life friend and for a while we had a much more personal relationship. He has this girlfriend he’s had for a couple years and he keeps the fact that we talk a secret because she “thinks people with Internet friends are creepy.” A few months ago, when I still texted him and called him occasionally, the freakiest sh*t went down. I tried calling him and didn’t get an answer. I got a call from his cell a shirt while later. Thinking it was him, I let out a big “wazzzzap.” it was actually his girlfriend, and he later told me they were gone on a drive and he didn’t have his phone. When they got back, she saw he had a missed call and he was acting sorta suspicious about it (there had been other close calls and times where he would get defensive about his phone, apparently.) Anyway, she called my number after he had lied and said it was a debt collected who got the wrong number and kept calling him. She asked me if I was calling for him and I tried to play it off but I kinda failed. Soon after, I get a second call and it’s actually my friend this time, telling me his girlfriend kicked him out and asking for my help, although he wasn’t really sure what I could do to help. He drove home and later made me fake a phone call where he told me we couldn’t be friends and to stop calling him and contacting him (at his girlfriends request). Open Question: Which would be better on an iPad 2?
In terms of protection and portability which would be better for an iPad 2? A sleeve, like a neoprene one you would use for a laptop. Or, a silicone/rubber skin, like something you would use on a cell phone? I’m a student, so I thought keeping it in a sleeve would help with carrying it around and being able to take it out as needed, but at the same time it is still bare during use. With a skin, it is protected from anything like scratches, but the screen won’t be protected while I’m carrying it around. I want something that I could also use as a stand, but something that wont be to heavy.
I think a portfolio style case would be best, but I don’t like the bulky-ness.

Open Question: Can someone help me with MAGIC JACK?
Okay, I admit it, I fell for the ads for the Magic Jack PLUS device that is supposed to be the best answer for cheap telephone service. I have had a real nightmare with trying to install the %^#$@*+ thing and the customer service at Magic Jack is truly pathetic.

I can’t seem to get a straight answer from anyone in their customer service assistance forum about WHICH wires to use for installation.

Currently, I have Verizon DSL for my computer and I don’t know how I can unplug any of the three cords that go into the DSL Modem and still have Internet service AND a Magic Jack Plus connection. I’m very confused and certainly not a computer/tech whiz. What seems simple to others sounds horribly complicated to me.

Is there some kind soul out there in Yahoo Answers land who can explain to me how I can use Magic Jack Plus and still get a dial tone on my land line telephone and make calls? Maybe I’ll understand it better from you folks because their customer service is rotten, or that has been my experience so far. Yes, I do have the written instructions but that still doesn’t tell me WHICH telephone cord to plug in where. If I unplug the end that goes into the telephone itself HOW do I get a dial tone or a ring tone?

I tried just plugging the device into the USB port on the computer tower but the on;y problem with that is, I can’t screen my calls through my answering machine and when I shut down the computer at night I can’t receive incoming calls. I also don’t like that their voice mail sends messages to my e-mail that I have to sort through the next time I’m on the computer. I am expecting important calls and since I have been having Magic Jack Plus problems, I’m going broke using my cell phone until this land line issue is resolved.

Also, if anyone has used either Magic Jack Plus or Net Talk, do you have a preference? The devices cost the same ($69.) but I noticed the other day on Net Talk’s ads that their yearly service is about $29 versus $39 for Magic Jack Plus.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

my fiance got a new at&t phone a blackberry and she put her sim card in it on a 50 a month unlimited talk txt and internet plan but it charged her 25cents to send a txt to some one in ohio we live in indiana its not far… were curious why it charged us 25 cents for no reason when its suppose to be unlimited txting? we used a iphone on this plan before the blackberry and it uses more daata package than a blackberry so i dont see that beign the problem cause we never ran into this trouble till now.

Open Question: Why do I keep stealing things?
I have grown up in a wealthy family, I have everything I need and more yet I have a urge to take things. It started when I was a child about 8, I stole things such as change(from my family) and sweets.’note’ i always gave it back i felt too guilty’.
In high school things changed, I challenged myself to steal things from teachers like keys, board marker pens and library books..literally about 10 a day for my entire education their, i didnt even read them i set them on fire in our woodburner or dump them in a rubbish bin on my way home which is a shame cos i like reading and books, i dont know why i did it.
Ive stolen things mobile(cell) phones, not even to use them, just destroy them, I stolen money from tills before now when noone was around, please i dont know wtf is wrong with me, I dont need the stuff i take, it’s the thrill of getting away with it at the time it’s such a adrenaline rush, afterwards i always feel terrible about it, I’m not a bad person but i hate who i’m becoming.
